Negativity kills. It kills the mind. It kills the heart. And it kills the soul.
It took me three decades and countless miles to realize this. Once I did, I made a vow to myself to always try to find a smidgen of positive in a bad situation. I began helping other people see this when they came to me for help.
It was only recently that I took the step to show myself the same kindness as I did others. Growing up, I always compared myself to others. Everyone was pretty. I was not. All I ever wanted was for people to love me the way I loved them. But I always felt dejected. But now, I’m realizing most of it is in my own mind. The way I see myself is never the way others see me. So I am determined to change my perspective. Transform my thinking. And share my progress, as well as the positive, along the way. I want to pay it forward with random acts of kindness. Everyone needs to smile more! I started doing it here on my blog, but it just didn’t reach enough people I’m afraid. I wanted to do more. I love cheering people up. I love making them smile. And I definitely love helping them and sharing positives. It makes my heart sing.
I’ve found Operation Beautiful and have expanded my Positive Post-it Notes to the public world of REAL life! Much like the “where’s george” operation with one dollar bills, my first Operation Beautiful endeavor I wrote positive notes on money with a link to their website to get it out in the world. I’ve also started leaving my post-it notes in public bathrooms and fitting rooms (when I can remember to bring them with me!)
I hope you will join me in changing the way we see ourselves. Please feel free to click away and share!

I found one of those post it notes in the bathroom at the local VA clinic today.
